URL ABCs
These are my URL ABCs:
- A is for allmusic.com - I like music - Allmusic is good source for information.
- B is for bloglines.com/myblogs - Everyday use, though BoardGameGeek would've been a good pick too (my browser has 'b' keyword linking straight to Geek)
- C is for cheyne.net/blog/ - A friend's blog, which I visit every now and then.
- D is for dragongoserver.net/ - Dragon Go Server, where I play Go.
- E is for ebay.com/ - I recently bought something; I'm far from a regular user.
- F is for funagain.com/ - I've never bought anything, but I like browsing it for the information.
- G is for gmail.com/ - Gets little use, but used to be a geek status symbol (just kidding).
- H is for helsinginsanomat.fi/viivijawagner/ - My only daily comic strip dose.
- I is for imperiumi.net/alb_2.php - I write metal album reviews and like to check what others think of the same albums. Imperiumi is the best source in Finnish.
- J is for jni.sdf-eu.org/raapusteluja/ - A random blog I read, only URL starting with J I visit even semi-regularly.
- K is for koti.mbnet.fi/provo/ - Another blog I read. Not many K URLs either.
- L is for littlegolem.net/ - Little Golem, another game site I use more than Dragon.
- M is for (Won't tell you the URL) - My blogging interface at Melankolia.net.
- N is for nintendo.com/ - I did some research on an article about Nintendo DS.
- O is for openoffice.org/ - I just recently updated my OpenOffice.
- P is for puolenkuunpelit.com/forum/ - A web forum I frequent (the one I like most got squashed under Little Golem).
- Q is for nothing! - Just one school-related link, which didn't work anymore.
- R is for rpg.net/ - I'm not into role-playing games, but I like Shannon Appelcline's board game reviews.
- S is for https://solo3.nordea.fi/cgi-bin/SOLO0001 - My online bank.
- T is for tamcat.linneanet.fi/ - Tampere University Library catalog.
- U is for uta.fi/hyper/ - University's Hyper media lab. I'm doing few of their courses, so I visit the site frequently. Very seasonal URL.
- V is for vr.fi/ - Finnish National Railway service.
- W is for wikipedia.org/ - What's a man without any information?
- X is for xe.com/ - Best site to do currency conversion.
- Y is for yle.fi/ - Finnish National Broadcasting service. I think I was looking for e-mail addresses to send press releases.
- Z is for zerodistance.fi/ - To be honest, I have no idea whatsoever and can't remember ever visiting this site.

Pieces of April and The Last Horror Movie
Pieces of April didn't look too impressive based on the cover, but turned out to be a real indie movie gem. Good actors combined with a heart-warming story worked out fine. The story is rather typical Thanksgiving family reunion, but with enough twist and edge to make it interesting. There's a dash of seriousness and even black comedy to balance out the sweetness of the theme. It's certainly the best Thanksgiving movie I've seen.
The Last Horror Movie tries to be a different horror movie and succeeds ok. A serial killer documents his killings while chatting pleasantly with the camera. Much of the goodness of the movie comes from the persona of Kevin Howarth, who plays the lead role. There's plenty of grim humour and it all adds up to, indeed, different kind of movie. Despite its silliness, the end of the movie succeeds in creating an unpleasant feeling, thanks to Howarth's fine acting.
